PIMFA urges for greater role for retail investors to deliver Net Zero

PIMFA, the trade association for wealth management, investment services and the personal investment and financial advice industry, has called on the Government to give more consideration to the role of retail investors in delivering on its Net Zero ambitions following the publication of its Green Finance Strategy.

David Ostojitsch, Director of Government Relations and Policy at PIMFA, commented: “PIMFA welcomes the publication of the Government’s Green Finance Strategy. But in plotting a roadmap towards becoming the world’s first Net Zero Aligned Financial Centre, we would urge the Government and Regulator to give better consideration to the role of retail investors in helping to achieve this.

“The UK is home to a thriving retail investment market with significant amounts of productive capital to potentially unlock. We would urge the Government to be clearer about how these investors can support the UK’s Net Zero journey.”
